The high-performance, low-cost synthetic intelligence model launched recently by Chinese start-up DeepSeek has produced a wave of attention worldwide. DeepSeek-R1 appears to use efficiency that rivals alternatives from the U.S., however the business states it was established at less than a tenth of the cost of those designs.
